FDIC 2018 Recap

Written by The JVCKENWOOD Team on 5/3/18 2:21 PM

The JVCKENWOOD team had another exciting year at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference in Indianapolis, IN last week. Over 34,000 firefighters gathered at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium for a full week of training and exhibition.

The JVCKENWOOD booth was buzzing with the latest innovative solutions for fire departments from KENWOOD Viking®, NEXEDGE®, and Zetron®. If you weren’t able to join us for FDIC or would just like to look back on the week, here are a few of our most popular displays at the JVCKENWOOD booth:

KENWOOD Viking All-Band, Multi-Deck VM7000

The VM7000 was a highlight for the many agencies that require communication across multiple frequency bands. With the VM7000 All-Band Multi-Deck Mobile, you can simultaneously receive and display up to four bands so you never miss a call. The “select” and “unselect” speakers give you the option for audio control similar to a dispatch console. Download the VM7000 product sheet now to learn more.

Zetron MAX Fire Station Alerting

Zetron’s MAX Fire Station Alerting solution is a purpose-built system designed to integrate with standard CAD systems delivered as a simple solution allowing dispatching from a central site.  The system allows activation of the station alerting system to turn on lights, open doors, turn on fans, turn off a stove, connect to a PA for alert tones and dispatcher voice, and sense other inputs, such as monitoring station equipment and tire switches. Watch Senior Product Manager, Mark Cranmore, demonstrate MAX Fire Station Alerting here for additional information.

MSA and KENWOOD Bluetooth® Integration

JVCKENWOOD is excited to showcase the latest integration between KENWOOD and MSA. The KENWOOD NX-5000 is now compatible with the MSA Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) via Bluetooth.

Configuring the KENWOOD radio and MSA SCBA is simple. Once the SCBA and KENWOOD radio are paired, audio is easily routed from your KENWOOD mic to SCBA mics with the single press of the SCBA Bluetooth button. First responders will still use the PTT on the KENWOOD radio mic to make calls while the devices are paired. Simply press the SCBA Bluetooth button once more to disconnect and route the audio back to your KENWOOD radio mic.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth. We hope to see you all again in Indianapolis next year. For additional information on our KENWOOD Viking products or ATLAS® P25 system solutions, check out our full line of offerings here.
